Freeport Public Transportation

Hi everyone...I will be on a cruise next month that will dock in Freeport, Bahamas. Was wondering if using their public bus system was a way to go, esp. from cruise port (Lucaya) to the International Bazaar and back. Does anyone know how much it would cost and how often the buses run from and to downtown? Thanks so much!

It costs five bucks per person one way, it's about 15 minutes to the bazaar.

We used to ride the public buses for .70 back and forth from Freeport to Port Lucaya.
In fact you could ride the public bus just about anywhere on Grand Bahama for .70.
Last year the taxis were lined up at $5 each way and they put up a big argument when we told them that we wanted to ride the bus. We ended up getting in a taxi but I think that you could still walk to a bus stop.
