Default Advice on Princess please

We are planning a Caribbean cruise next year with Princess but which one? Can anyone recommend one? Also are the seas likely to be calm? Thinking perhaps March but not sure what the weather is like then. We are from England and Virgin do charter flights direct to San Juan. Has anyone done this?

I am not sure which Princess ship sails during the winter to the Caribbean. We have been on the Grand Princess twice and loved it. The Golden is exactly the same as the Grand. The new Caribbean Princess is the same, except they added new decks with staterooms. If you are going to go Princess, you can't go wrong. The ships and service are wonderful. Actually, on both Princess cruises, we met many people from England.

Princess cruises are grand and laid back at the same time. You can do both. Whatever is your mood.

Don't know if this helps, hope so.

My wife and I have just booked on the Dawn Princess for 4/9/05.
This is a ten day cruise and leaves from Fort Lauderdale FL.

Waiting until April as most our schools break in Mid/Late March causing the ship to be full and a bit higher in price.

This cruise gets down into the Southern Caribbean a bit further than the 7 day cruises and after our last 7 day cruise we felt we needed a couple more days. Hope this one fits the need. The waters should be calm for the most part. I find the water the most choppy around the Florida and Bahamas area. Any bad weather could change that and make a fibber out of me! This cruise seems to have nice stops. Check them out on the Princess site. This is one of their older ships (1995 or6?). This ship is going in for engine overhaul in November and they should do other upgrades as well. This is our first Princess Cruise. Hope it is a good one!
Most likely you didn't need a bit of this info, but if it helps that 's great.

Matt & Kitty , Plattsburgh NY
Destiny 2000 (great cruise)
Westerdam (old one) 2001 (Snooorrrrrrr ZZZZZZZZZZ)
Century 2003 (best ship to date)
Glory 2004 (OK)

Hi--The Dawn, if like the Sun Princess, should be a wonderful experience. It's the Sister ship and smaller than the Grand Class. I understand that the Caribbean Princess will be THE ship for the Caribbean during the winter.Someone correct me if I'm wrong. We will be on her Sept.18-25 to the Eastern Caribbean. To date, the Golden Princess is my favorite, and we have also been on the Grand. Our first cruise was on the Sun Princess in 1998. I think it's right that the ocean in southern Florida/Florida Straits is a little choppier because of the Gulf Stream having to go through it.
My husband says that he likes the Princess ships because they have the prettiest girls in the Casino. Many of them are British!!! There is an international staff-many from England, Canada (my home country years ago!), Poland--these are the ones in the stores, photography shops, Casino. I just love the British accent. You will feel right at home. There are many international travellers as well, so I think you'll have a great time. Lynne
