Default PLAYA-DEL CARMEN dock ?????

Do you dock or tender in Playa-del-carmen from Carnival cruise ships?
We will be on the Sensation in November.

They actually dock at the Calica Dock which is 8 miles south of Playa del Carmen. The only thing there is a rock quary. They have taxi's to take you to town, $10. each way, and the tour busses are there for the excursions, and they have 2 rental agencies, but I don't remember which ones they are. This is right beside Xcaret ecological park, and if you would like to go there, you can just take a taxi over to the park, entrance fee is $49.00 pp. We were there in April from the Holiday ship.

Playa del Carmen has a beautiful beach, you can rent chairs, and be served drinks by the hotel waiters, reasonable prices. They have brand new shopping areas, very nice!

Definitely worth the taxi ride for the day. If only 2 of you, split the taxi with another couple going that way.

Have a great time. I was on the Sensation in May from Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel, and the ship is in excellent shape, and the service is fantastic!

I would also recommend having a look at the Mayan Adventure Catamaran tour. Its an incredible tour along the coast line of the Riviera Maya, snorkeling and spot at a private/secret beach that has a Mayan ruin, not huge but really beautiful. The coast line is incredible and the water was gorgeous.

We went on this trip last month on the Holiday and it was a great time. All drinks are included and we drank a bunch of Sole and rum and cokes. Its a pretty good deal and our kids were 1/2 price which was nice. We also go to see this place called Tie Die Island, interesting story there.

Don't forget to try the net boom ride, refreshing and fun!!!

The leave from Porto Venchas about 10 minutes away by cab and the area is beautiful. We stayed around there for a while after the trip to explore before heading back to the ship.

We are planning on spending the day at Xcaret. I have heard it is a full day adventure, and it sounds like it is close by.
Thanks
Happy Cruisin'
