Can anyone tell me anything about snorkeling in Bermuda? Anything would be helpful and I have never been to Bermuda before.

Bermuda snorkeling is great. I have never used any excursion on my three trips to Bermuda. We rent mopeds or scooters and ride down along the southern shore of the island. Horseshoe Bay, Church Bay, the area around the front of the old Sonesta Beach Hotel are all wonderful snorkel beaches. The beach areas around the vacinity of the Southhampton Princess are good locations. Since Bermuda usually does not have much wave action, you can see colorful fish all around the rocks and coral just off any beach.
If you get as far as the Somerset Bridge, just stop and look over the side of the bridge and you can see multi-colored fish without even getting wet. Have fun! Bermuda is very beautiful and fun to just ride around on motorized bikes.
To answer both of you about snorkeling, do the Jessie James trip. This is one of the most enjoyable excursions I have ever done. 3 stops, 3 distinctly different snorkeling experiences. Run by a great family and they take very good care of their guests.
I strongly recommend Jessie James. We had a great time. Two minutes before leaving we were the only couple and they were going any way. Capt Jim makes you feel you are the only people in Bermuda and he shares his experiences with you. You can make a reservation via the internet but you need cash to pay at the pier. Many of the local excursions have gotten burned in the past. Jim's wife Jill handles the reservations, firstname.lastname@example.org. If you book tell Jill Deacon Larry says hello.
Have a ball.
