Hi Sue,
We haven't done that excursion, but have heard really high marks on that one. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and getting to see St. John is always nice, enjoy!

Sue, What did you book the cruise through? DH and I want to do something like this when we're in St. Thomas, and I'm looking for a good operator.

Ginamarie I am not sure if I understood your question right. We booked the tour through the cruiseship.....it sounded very nice and relaxing.

I hope this is the same romantic and exhilerating experience we had! we loved it.

Besides champagne they served elegant appertizers. we also docked and snorkled in the waters of St John's.

you will enjoy, It is so beautiful sailing in the waters. have a great time.

Jeanne I hope so too! We are doing the 1/2 day one since we would like to spend some time on the ship with less people around the pool! Did you do 1/2 day or whole day one?

Are there bathrooms on the boat and/or on the island where you stop to swim?

Does the boat dock to where you have to swim over to the island?

thanks for the info

We did a full day excusion. However, other times we have also enjoyed staying on the ship while others have taken a day trip. I think you the way you plan it, you will get the best of both. It is wonderful to have the pool and other facilities without a crowd!

I look forward to your posting after you return.

Enjoy,

Jeanne

Jeanne I will post a detailed review when we get back! Since we rented a jeep in St.Marteen and will be busy all day we thought of just doing something small in St Thomas.

Sue,

We look forward to your review.

Renting a jeep is a great way to see both the Dutch and French sides and the freedom to just enjoy the blue waters.

We are scheduled for the October 30 Carribean Princess. I am very interested in booking the same 1/2 day champagne cruise to St. John. I would love to hear how it was. I also am curious about a catamaran. Are there seats or benches or are you sitting on the ground??? I have difficulty sitting on the ground due to arthritis in my hips. I don't want to be embarassed if I book this trip. I really just want to sail over to St. JOhn and enjoy every bit of scenery.

Thanks!

Maryellen

Maryellen,

If it is the same catamaran experience, it was very elegant. the inside cabin was airconditioned and the seats had padded cushions where they served food but there was big jump down from the boat to land. For us, it was also a shorkeling experience which we love to do (two hours on land). On the way back most people were outside relaxing on a deck like netted platform, enjoying desserts.

St. John's is awesome whether you take the ferry with a bus type of tour or decide to be a bit more adventuresome. If this is the tour that you get off the catamaran it may pose problems if you are not agile.

Enjoy your trip, we have visted this island many times have have never been disappointed

Jeanne
