Need things to do in Nassau

My cruise will be stopping in Nassau, Bahamas at the end of February. We arrive at 1:00 p.m. and leave port at 7:00 p.m.

As with my earlier posts, I do not want to take any of the ship's excursions as they are usually cost prohibitive and we usually have more fun on our own.

There are four of us, all in our late 30s, athletic, we love the beach, sun and water sports. None of us are into shopping.

What do you know about Rainbow Reef? Can we get there on our own? Would you recommend it or is there a better place to snorkel?

Can anyone recommend an independent tour operator so that we can swim with stingrays?

What else do you recommend to do in Nassau?

We are swimming with the dolphins later this year. Same port times as you. This is the same tour operator HAL uses, but with HAL, you can only do the "encounter" and not the "swim". Must book independently with this website to do the swim.
