st maarten beaches to jet ski or kayak????

We will be on aos in 2 weeks. We are wanting to beach it in st. maarten. Where would you suggest doing that? We would like to rent jet skiis or kayaks. We also don't want to be at same beach as all cruise ship passengers. any suggestions would be helpful.
