Hey J-Bon, Just wanted to let you know we are back home and safe and sound. 9 day cruise for 7, it was wionderful. Just got here to work so I will have to write more later, just wanted to let you know we are home. Lynne is home too, but she has no phones or electric because of the hurricane so she will post when she can. GREAT TIME will tell you later.
Thank's Lushes for checking in, It's great to hear from you I can't wait to hear all about your trip, 9 for 7!!! thats terrific tell me all about it when you get a chance. My heart and prays go out to Perfect Rose I'm sure she and Trevor had a good time on the Cruise but she needs a break from the STORMS ( keep kicking Rose )
Trouble, I wan't All THE DETAILS ok mayby not ALL.
Lil Sis, how did your horses do on the ship, was there hay buffets?
Take care Girls!!!
p.s. my internet access has been acting-up but I'll keep checking inn when I can.
Hi J Bon-this is Perfect Rose! We had a wonderful time! We're ready to go again! Trevor and I are about to go out for his birthday today.Lushes just called me on the phone so we're still connecting!
Take care and I'll try to get some pictures out to you soon. Love, Lynnie-ROSE
HI JBON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a WONDERFUL time. If you ask my mom and my aunt the word for the week was WOW !!!!! There was soooo many HOT, did I mention HOT guys on that ship. For instance: Jared, Paul, Scott (the dancer), James, Matt ( I think that his name, the cute singer), the cute Austrailian bar tender, the cut guy who worked at the purshers desk, I could go on for awhile WOW. Not to mention the guys who didn't work on the ship. Those were just the guys worked on the ship. I had a wonderful time. I ate soo much that I was litterally miserable. I am defiently redyto go again. I had an amazing time with my two moms. This defiently will not be something that forget. I cannot thank my mom enough for this vacation. I had the time of my life. We laughed soo hard that I made my back hurt, we had a blast. We all are VERY tired though. I can't not get back into the swing of things. I am still wanting to be pampered like I was on vacation. But I have no choice.Well dinner is waiting on me, gotta go. Will post later. See ya. Love Trouble
It's already 8AM. I was never up this early on the Ship-except for a potty break perhaps before heading back to bed "for a few more minutes". Angie, how are you doing? Trevor is finally feeling better. We went to Red Lobster for his birthday last night for our "seafood fix"-no cheeseburgers, Ashee!- and I had a piece of vanilla bean cheese cake with raspberry sauce on it-so good and RICH, while Trevor finished his second pina colada-his "drink of the day". Carol, this is your sleep in day, unless you have to work because you missed Monday and Tuesday.
I'm already waiting for tomorrow to come-Saturday! YEAH. I must admit, while I'm sitting here, I'm "swaying" a little bit. I just had a dream about a cruise ship before I was so rudely interrupted by the sound of the brakes from the garbage truck. You never did see me run so fast. Made it, too=even handed the guy the bag myself!
Better go for now. J Bon, are you getting a little flavor of our cruise? FANTASTIC!
Reality...this bites!!!! I have not had not one piece of chocolate on my pillow since I have been home. What's up with that? I am doing well now. I had some kind of bug from Tuesday night until last night I started feeling better. I had gained five punds on the cruise and I lost that already so I guess some good came from my bug. I even missed work on Thursday..it bit me hard. My horses are good J Bon. My husband just left with them to go riding in the Hoosier National Forest for a week. We are going back on Halloween Weekend and I'm going too. It is such a good time and a beautiful ride with the leaves all falling. THe cruise was absolutely the best...you should have been there. We did have horses on the cruise. We bet the horse races with dicey wooden horses. We did better with horse races than the casino. We were even horse owners. We bought a horse and we had to name it, give it a history, take it with us wherever we went, dress it, and we were in the horse owners race. Sad to say but our horse lost by one square...oh so close. I think we should have had a re race because the horse that one accidentally got moved a sqaure. Oh well...win some lose some and when you get an extra 2 days on a cruise ship and a extra day shopping in Ft. Lauderdale...I consider that a big WIN!!!! I just put out film (5 rolls) in to be developed so we have some Bon Girls pictures for you. Take Care!
PS Hey Lynne glad to see you are up and running. MIss seeing you guys. Had a fantastic time meeting you. You guys are GREAT!!!
It's Sunday afternoon already. My server has been on and off so I haven't been able to get in when I've wanted to-BUMMER. You wouldn't believe what we're watching on ESPN-The National Scrabble Championships. If someone had told me we'd ever be watching that over a football game I would have told him he was crazy.
Trevor is finally feeling better after his bug. He had more of a cold thing going on-coughing, sneezing, runny nose. He kept taking my anti-histimine every 12 hours and I think that finally dried him up.
My brain isn't completely back to normal yet. I'm in a daze. I wish I were back on the ship. My son-in-law and step-daughter have practically nixed the idea of taking our granddaughter with me on a cruise next year when she turns 13. The parents are afraid of the older boys. She could pass for much older. I'll send you a picture of her.
Ashee, we had our Hispanic congregation worship with us this morning and your eyes would have bugged out seeing the new Hispanic Pastor. Georgous! He could be the brother of Antonio Banderas, or any movie star. Has a pretty young wife, too.
I tried to get Kim King's pictures on snapfish but maybe that's when my server went down again because I couldn't get in. We have ours finally in the computer so will be sending some along when we take the time.
I think we will be the Bon Girls FOREVER! Kind of like the Ya Ya Sisterhood!
I'll go for now. If you don't hear from me on the Boards, the Server is down!!!
Take care, everybody. The "other" horse (#6) could have won, too, but the one that got that extra space probably spoiled it for us, too! ha ha. But it was fun--wasn't it??!!
Now gang, let's not give up on this thread just yet! Carol, I sent you some pictures via email. I hope you get them. It looks as if some folks on our cruise and the one after us have some great disappointments that their posting. I really can't complain-can you? (Except for the drooping roses and not enough chocolate, right, Ashee?) I guess if I saw a flaw, it would be not having enough traditional food on the buffet in the Caribe Cafe. I know it was internationally based, but there's always room for some mashed potatoes with the meat. I liked eating up there and some nights I was hard pressed to find enough to fill my plate. I know, there was always cottage cheese and fruit-but that's no fun on a cruise!!!
It's now about 11:30PM. Joe would be proud of me staying up this late, but even he is getting back into his training regime and has to be in bed by midnight. You'll be at work in just a few more hours,Carol. Ugh. Good night, y'all. (Goodnight, J Bon).
Good morning. It is BLAH MONDAY. A whole week of work, there is something wrong with this picture. No countdown clock, can you tell I am crying? Guess we will have to go with J-Bon and Spook. Just where will you guys be going. I have the time off from work in Jan, just not the money. Don't life just go that way. Yes Lynne, I had to work on Friday. I took a sick day for one day and worked on Friday. That is ok, I am still trying to find my desk and it was check day for the residents. Did not do much over the weekend. Unpacked finally and put the suitcases away and did laundry and laundry. Just rested, seems I can't get caught up on that. Well must get busy. Have a good day.
Hey Lynne, Did you get one of those Lof of the Cruise when you were leaving the ship. We got one right as we were leaving our cabin and Angie through it in her bag. She just brought it to me to make a copy of it is really interesting. If you did not get one I was going to send it to you. Let me know. Back to work now. Bye Bye
No, I didn't get a Log of the Cruise. I saw it in some of the mailboxes but evidently not everyone got one.
I'm so glad we had such a good week.I keep seeing bad reviews from the people after us. They must have been thoroughly "ticked" even before they got to the Ship. They had the trouble the other way-before the cruise. Our people had trouble at the end of the cruise with arrangements. I keep hearing that the service was bad. I didn't encounter too much of that. We did have an "iffy" breakfast server that last morning, but none of us were really in that big of a hurry or mood to eat a lot anyway.
One of our friends just helped Trevor cut down the damaged tree in front of our house. They shared the cost of an electric chain saw. Now, we're going to treat him to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's, since he was the one up on the roof.
The Apple Festival is slowly but surely being dismantled at work, but the AC was off today and it was so warm in the Activities Center where it was held. Plus, when I walked in this AM, there had been a water main break and there was no water-so no coffee hour, no dishwasher in the main kitchen, etc. It was fixed around lunchtime.
J Bon and Spook are going to the Southern Caribbean on the Golden Princess that leaves out of San Juan. If only the Lottery Fairy would be good to us. If we win the big one then we can share the cruise or I'll treat you to it! Of course, we'd need a balcony!
One one of the other threads, a guy going on the Caribbean Princess asked about Cabin B408.That was ours! He wants to know if it's a good one. I wrote back and described everything except the 3 roses that I had up by the TV set!! We had no problem with it.
Better get ready to go to supper. Trevor's out of the shower already.Bye Y'all. Lynne
Good morning. I agree I think everyone must have been ticked before they arrived onboard. We did not have those problems and found the service as wonderful. Glad we had such a good week with lots of GREAT people. I will send you a copy of this log, as it is very interesting. Send me your address again and I need to write it down this time. It goes day by day and tell how far we went ect. you will enjoy it I think. Glad you got the tree under control, seems like the storms have stopped, thank God. I am trying to get all the info I need to send into my travel ins for our stay in FL. Got to get busy. Have a good day. It is cold here this morning, only 37. I hate the thought of winter coming.
Now we have NO trees in our front yard, except for a round palm tree up by the porch. It's not one of those tall kind like our neighbors have-and the top blew off! Trevor's friend, Arnie, refused to get off the roof until the job was completed.
Fig has just written a review on the first page of Cruise Mates. I just answered him so it would be up near the top. Rob, of James and Rob, just answered me back, too,on the Board.
Your cold front isn't going to reach us down here so we're "stuck" with 91 degrees today and little chance for rain. I'm so used to watching tropical storms materialize, it's almost disappointing not to see one forming. It is going to dry out down here which will cut down the mosquito population-another menace.
Ok- it's 8AM. Gee, the time really goes fast in the AM. I've been up since 6:30-garbage day! Bye for now! Love, Rose
Let's go back...all those blah bad review people can stay home and we will all go. We had a great time.....maybe it was just the company we had and we know how to have a great time no matter what!! I thought I would check the threads while I was upstairs. I am getting ready to start scrapbooking our pictures. Thanks for the ones you sent Lynne. Ahhhh...what great memories!!!!
By the way, Carol and Ashley, it sure was fun spending all that time with my best friends...I love you guys and I don't know what I would do without you. My stomach still hurts from all the laughing.....WOW!
Good morning. Lynne, I sent that log yesterday so look for it in the mail, I know you and Trevor will enjoy it. Not much happening here in Ohio this weekend. I am going camping next weekend. Hope the weather is nice. So far seems like I should have went this weekend as it is calling for cold weather next, hopefully that will change.
We have our pictures now, they turned out good. Ashley and I was talking yesterday how that was the best vacation we had ever had. It is sure something I will treasure. Angie and I always have fun together but to add Ash in was such a treat, I never laughed so hard. To both of you thanks for the WONDERFUL memories, we had a BLAST. Ashley since you wanted this trip with me before you had kids, and your not planning on having any for awhile, maybe we could do it again someday. But the thing is save your own money sister, that was a one time paid cruise!!! You are my sister, right? That is what our cruise neighbor said, don't forget that. I love it "sister". WOW
Got to get busy. Should be time for J-Bon to check in, don't you think?
Did I tell you that a guy named Tommy is on the thread for the current Caribbean Princess and inquired about B-408? Anyway, we've been on a couple of times, and now he's invited the gal-Tina Lee-who is posting during the cruise, and ME (us) on the one he's going on in March!!! Of course, we pay our own way, but, that's how friends are made on this board! I told him I'll entertain the thought, but if we don't make it, he has to report on how accurate my description of the Cabin was once he gets there, and how his cruise went.
If we had the money, honeys, it would be great fun to join J Bon and his group on the 12/9/05 sailing of the Golden Princess to the Southern Caribbean.
We had a wonderful time with you guys, too. I hope you don' t mind, but in the interest of explanation when talking to each other, we call you "the girls". The Girls are at the top of our list for the cruise. I wish we could have spent more time together and taken more pictures together, but, within our "group" we had our individual cruise memories to make. I just wish Trevor would smile more in the photos. He does have a good time, but it doesn't show on film! You know him now, so can appreciate what I'm saying.
I agree with you, Carol, we Bon Girls , or at least you 3, as a family, need to go again!!
I'll talk to you all later--you too, J Bon! Lynnie-ROSE
WE NEED TO GO ON A " BON CRUISE"!!!!!! BON HEAR THAT?
Calling us "The Girls" is fine. We had a great time with you guys too and always want to keep in touch and hope to go on another cruise with you again. Hopefully if you come to Ohio to visit we can go to Dominics for dinner. I can taste the garlic now!!1 Mmmmmmmm Good.
Have you been following Sue's review of her cruise the week after ours? It's quite interesting. It has lots of details in it-being she had her family with her, she asked for a lot of things over and above what we did. We didn' t ask for much, so didn't expect much, and in other respects got more than we imagined.
It was 67 degrees when I got up this morning. Rain will be moving in from the Gulf of Mexico late Sunday night into Monday. I guess we need it, , since it has hardly rained in about 2 weeks, except for a stray shower.
I was dreaming about cruise ships again last night and early this morning. It's still in my system, I guess! We've GOT to plan another cruise!!! Trevor already has it figured out. Probably Ashee and Carol could bunk together, or Ashee and Me, or Carol and Me, or.......maybe we could go in for a suite and all be in the same room. I don't think that Ashee would want to be away from you two "moms and best friends".
Trevor just loves the lasagna at Dominc's and pile on that garlic dressing on the salad. People will smell me coming for weeks!
I hope we get up to Dayton before we are more older and grayer! I just received the email from Franny up in Canada, along with most of us. Gee, I really miss everybody!
I could be writing a novel with all the typing I've been doing on ours and other posts since I've been back. Maybe we can arrange for a trip up north, but Trevor says the next time will be when his mother passes away. The Service and Burial will be up there. But, we saw her at her younger sister's (80) birthday party last weekend and the soon to be 88 year old was still going strong. If there had been a polka played, she would have been right up there on the dance floor!!
A few minutes ago I just saw a review of the New England/Canada cruise on the Grand Princess-goes to Boston, Maine, Halifax, and perhaps Newfoundland, where vav and Kathy live. Hmmmn. But, it did get cool up there. They got the remnants of Jeanne up there, even, so had one rainy day.
That's it for now. I have to get all my posting done before the server goes down. Trevor is back into his blackjack site. He was winning a tournament yesterday when the server went down, and he was winning! Boo Hoo Hoo.
I'll talk to you all soon. Love, Lynnie-ROSE
Just a quick hello. Everything is very busy this week at work. Lots of meetings ect. Yesterday I had a meeting at 9:30 then one at 10, one at 10:30 that lasted till 12:30 then one at 2:30 that lasted till 4:30. I was ready to go home!!!! I am only working until Wed. this week as I am going camping Thursday till Monday. It is suppose to cold and rainy, hope that changes. Hope you and Trevor are doing ok. Tell him hello. Have a good day.
My server was down all weekend. It finally came on last night when Trevor played with the outlet strip switch in the living room. The computer is here in the spare room, so don't know what the connection is. It also cleared up the fuzziness on the TV as both the TV and Server are from the same cable company. Oh well.
We had rain from late yesterday afternoon through the evening-remnants of Matthew. Joe was on the other board last night and said that Andrew and Kathy were looking at left-overs from Nicole, the storm that was harrassing Bermuda. It's overcast at the moment here with a few stray showers.By the end of the week temps are going down to the mid 60's at night and low 80's during the day.So, there are seasons in Florida!
One sign that things are going back to normal is that the trains are starting to come back through. This is a Tuesday and we're very near a track and this is the second one I've heard since 7AM.
I sent the beginning of a cruise review to PammyHound upon request-I didn't mention specific names but you and the girls have been mentioned. It only goes up to the Tuesday so far, as I stopped writing things down after that. Now I have to reconstruct the rest of the week from the Patters the log, which I expect to receive today. During the night I was dreaming about the cruise again-I think in light of the review-describing different spots on the ship. It's going to take a long time to get over this one. I noticed that with Joe's posting last night, I was the last poster, which was two days earlier.I guess that means that our group is turning to other things now in the "real" world. Sad.
Better go. Have a great time camping. My boss is on vacation again, and his successor will arrive while he's gone.It will be strange. When he comes back, he'll be at the little side desk and she will have his BIG desk. I also share the office. I don't know how much time I'll have to spend in there if he's training her-many things will be confidential, concerniing Dept. Heads and behind the scenes stuff. In the meantime, there are several things on the agenda this week for me to take care of,regarding activities.
Bye Y'all!! Lynne
Hello GIRL'S!!! sorry I haven't been around my server has been down. It's good to see that your going again and we may just consider the BON CRUISE, Jan 31 is Cheri's B-day & Feb 3 is mine what is the itinerary?
So,J Bon, what are you saying? You're considering changing your cruise from January 9, on the Golden, to the January 30 Cruise on Radiance of the Seas with Carol for a Bon Cruise? If that is what you are inferring, then I better start saving my pennies. More later-my server is about to go down. ROSE
Gee,J Bon, my heart was a pumpin' there for the last 24 hours!
Really, that will work out better, as we'll have a year to plan and pay off the cruises for this year!!
My elder son (Jamie,35,) called today and said that he is planning his annual trip down here for the second week in December. As usual, that will squeeze us right before Christmas and we will not have any funds left over for another cruise so soon--unless our lottery numbers finally come in.!
You and Lushes can report back after you've returned and compare your cruises down to that area. In the meantime, we'll be checking to see that you and yours have everything you need for this one-Spook and Co, also. Your countdown clock should start to be looking pretty good about now!
Take care. I'll check back in again sometime tomorrow-or after Lushes returns from her camping trip this weekend. Lynnie-ROSE
Hello Lynnie and J-Bon. Bon was glad that we heard from you. What have you been up to ;ately? I just got back from a 4 night camping trip. Rain every day but Sunday. We were taking everything down today and the rain came again. So we had to put everything back up when we got home. Also did I tell you that it was colder than you know what. Long johns and layers of sweat shits, winter hats and gloves. Only got in the 40's and VERY windy. Still had fun, but it could have been nicer. I like to go and see the changing of the trees, but guess I picked the wrong weekend.
Bon you had me excited there for a minute. My 50th birthday is Feb 9. that really would have been a great present to spend it on a Bon Cruise. I won't be going again in 2005 so 2006 will be great. We can celebrate our birthdays. I will be going Eastern Caribbean this time. St. Thomas St Marteen and the private island. That is where I was suppose to go on our cruise with Lynne. So will 2006 be the Bon Cruise? If so, count me in. What has Spook been up to? Tell him hello. Well got to go, Just wanted to say hello.
PS Lynne, Did you get the Bon Girl picture to J-Bon yet?
Hi Carol. Welcome back. Yes, I think I sent the Bon Girl picture to J Bon as soon as we got the chance when we got back. I was just reading your message up above and about cracked up when I saw what you listed as wearing. Sweat whats???? Really funny! I'm not making fun of you, but it just hit me-with a wide grin--first thing in the morning. I can just imagine what keys I've hit, or not hit, when I'm not awake yet or typing too fast.
My new boss, named Carol, started yesterday. I can see that she and I will be be working together very closely, and in the same manner. Many of our habits are the same. Yesterday, she was helping move crafts around and getting under tables to get stored boxes put somewhere in advance of the Activities Room carpet being cleaned last night. She was wearing a very nice beigy pants suit. I told her that if she kept that up she's going to have to wear blue jeans to work. She also sings along to the CDs I have in the player, like I do-she's a professional singer-does Patsy Cline very well. I might get an office or space for myself and a helper, too. FINALLY!
The 2006 "BON CRUISE" sounds great to me!!! We can all join in the fun of planning it all year and have our own roll call or join another one. Too Cool!!
Bye for now. Hi to the other "girls". I miss you all!
Once I get Trevor to sit down and get the picture site for me I can send more pictures to you, Ashee and Angie-unless you forward them- and to Joe, so he can post them. He's talking about Mariner of the Seas next year-to the Eastern-but by then you and Bon will have been there and done the excursions. We'll have to think of somewhere special.
Hi everyone...I haven't been on here since forever. It just doesn't seem the same, but I'm ready to go again. I hope that lottery hits real soon!!!!!!!!! I finished my scrapbook and took it to work. Everyone just raved over it. I wish you could see it Lynne, it turned out really well. What a GREAT time!
Hey J-bon glad to hear from you. Have you and Spook been riding? Ou Arab was really sick last weekend. The vet thinks he had Potomac Fever. We almost lost him, but 4 vet visits and a $650 vet bill later, he is back to his old self. I could have went on a cruise for that amount of money!!!!!!
Have a good one......Angie
Good morning!!!! Your right Lynne, when I re-read that it made me laugh. Who know what I type. It is going to be warm here to today in the 70's. I have not seen Angie's scrapbook yet, she is suppose to bring it to me today. Not really much to say this morning. Hope your new boss works out good for you. Her name is Carol, so of course she will be good right? Have a good day.
