Default Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios open?

With the hurricanes lately, are Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman open for cruise stops? ANyone been there lately? I heard GC got hammered pretty well.

We are looking at a Western cruise over Christmas and want to make sure we can actually explore the islands we will visit.

Also, the group would range from 7 - 68 in age. Aside from swimming with the stingrays in GC and Dunn River Falls in Jamaica, what other excursions are recommended

Tenitive date for GC opening to ships is Oct. 29th. The first week of Nov, 2-3 ships will be allowed in and more ships allowed the following weeks. This is what is planned now.

Ocho Rios is fine.

The Palm Beach Post has an excellent section on the Caribbean today.

Becky,

Where did you get your information.

We are going to Grand Cayman on Nov. 17 on Grand Princess.

Hope we get to stop there!

Ocho Rios is open and up & running as normal.

Duns River Falls is lovely ,although I'd climb it on your own, the 'holding hands' line is the hardest way to climb it...watch out for the green, slick rocks..there are some at the very top just before you get out...the falls level out here and some folks try to walk too fast, you still need to check your footing.
There is a walk way that hugs the side of the falls for none climbers. there are also lockers & showers.

Also check out James Bond Beach at www.jamesbondbeachjamaica.com

It's a lovely location, away from the hustle of Ochi Rios and only 15mins away...they serve really good food at the Moonraker and are well known locally for their seafood.
Its right next door to Ian 'James Bond' Fleming formaer home,he wrote all his 007 books looking out on the same view.
Beach chairs, restrooms ect are included in the entry price of only US$5 adults and US$3 for kids, its also wheelchair friendly

If you need a private driver for your day that will go at your pace and show you some hidden gems please email me.
