Dominica

Can anybody recommend things to do at Dominica --- We have been switched from Grenada to Dominica.

David and I are on that cruise too. Thanks for the post, I'm interested too in what to do.

Last year my husband and myself booked a tour through Kens Hinterland Tours. We hiked to the falls and went to TItou Gorge. We chose to go with just the 2 of us but the price was the same for 4. The guide was very knowledgeable. I booked it through the internet before we left.

Trafalger Falls is amazing. Do the hike into the falls. We've been on 8 cruises and aside from swiming with the StringRays in Grand Cayman, Trafalger Falls was the absolute best!

Our family and friends all visited Dominica last April. We used Renyo tours and they where great. We did a trip all over the place. Visited local parks and fruit stands and vendors markets. We also went to Titou gorge and by far it was a highlight of our trip. Swimming into the small narrow gorge was cool and then coming up to the waterfall was great. If you want to climb up the first waterfall you can get to a second. Trafalgar falls was nice and worth the trip down the trail to the base of the falls. A little crowded for us and to many men wanting to help youg ladies up and down rocks, hands first on you and then held out for a tip. If you are looking for a great place to relax after all of that hiking, I would suggest the "River Rock Cafe" It is on the way to Trafalgar Falls. The local beer is Kubuli, and the food there was all local and VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were on our way up to do the falls, stopped there and never left. The balcony looks right out over the Rain Forest and it was an amazing site. If you are not booking excursions from the boat, Get off, Go to the end of the pier and ask for Joey. Everybody knows him and he will give you a great tour as well as sing you a song or two.

We enjoyed snorkeling at Champagne Reef. I would recommend a boat entry to the water though. The land entry is pretty rugged.
