On our last trip we hit the beach just in time for Hurricane Jeanne! We were there from 8 til 4. Then we left very very quickly. They kept moving the time back for when we needed to be back on board. I had a great time! However, this time around I want to make sure I SEE some of the sights! Of note: when we got off the ship--the taxi drivers were VERY VERY aggressive! Grabbing at your arms to come with them-rather than their competitors. It was a bit unnerving. Once we got in the taxi the driver was very nice-- no problem. However when we returned to the boat the taxi we got into had NO DOOR HANDLES on the inside of the taxi! This bothered me to know end til I got out of that dang taxi!
Open the door to the cab, if there are no door handles, don't get in. Also, if a driver is to aggressive in a non friendly manner, move on. Have you tried the bus service in Nassau. It is very cheap, very civilized and drivers are usually extremely couteous (as are the local passengers).
