Default Footwear for Belize Cave Tubing?

We're going to do the cave tubing tour next month (probably with Reggie's). I understand that there is a good walk to get to the start of the tubing area, and some kind of footwear would be needed. I would normally wear some leather sandals or tennis shoes for walking, but wouldn't want to get them wet.

Thanks,
Lenny

We bought water shoes from Speedo store. Mine rubbed a blister on my feet something awful. Alot of people just wore old tennis shoes that they didnt care about. We used Reggie you will really like him he is a great guy

We used water shoes that we bought at Walmart. Out of the five of us only one kid got a blister (he didn't get all the sand out of his water shoes from the beach). Others in our party wore canvas sneakers or Teva type sandals that they bought cheap at a discount store.

Teva type water sandals are great, cotton/canvas tennis shoes also work great, you need something with a little bit of grip.

Just make sure whatever you wear is comfortable. You might want to wear old tennis shoes and leave them behind. My daughter and I bought shoes on clearance at Old Navy to wear, as we thought if we wanted to leave them we could. Well, we brought them back. They smelled awful!! The water and mud really took their toll on them. So just be aware.

When I went on this tour I bought water shoes at walmart for under $5. They were great for the tour, no blisters or anything like that, and I threw them out once we got back to the port. They do get pretty gross, not worth saving, but did the trick for the excursion.

Cheap light in weight sneakers (Keds or similar) work great. Don't use flip flops. They were floating away like crazy.
