Were traveling RCCL 3/27/05 Mariner of the Seas. Is Labadee a free beach? are lounge chairs or cabanas or umbrellas provided? Does the cruise line provide lunch and are there changing rooms/rest rooms. Also how do you get there? So many questions!!! any help would be appreciated
I have been to Labadee a couple of times, last time not quite a year ago on the Mariner.
Labadee consists of approx. 250 acres leased exclusively by Royal Carb. as a private stop. You will tender ashore in RCCL's tenders. There are free beach chairs, use of the beaches are free, there is plenty of free food catered ashore by RCCL. Alcoholic beverages are not free. There is a shopping area where you can browse and bargain . The few locals that are permitted to set up shop there can seem to be a lillte aggressive but that is just their nature and don't let it bother you. Yes, there are bathrooms and facilities.
There are a variety of water sports offered by RCCL, at a charge and can be booked ahead of time. If you just want to lie on the beach, stroll around, eat and etc. it won't cost you anything. Labadee is a good stop to relax and take it easy. It is not an island unto itself, but as I said, an area leased by RCCL on the north side of Haiti.
I'm sure you will enjoy the day.
you actually do not have to book the water park excursion ahead of time. we did when we were on the voyager in 2003, however, when we actually got to labadee people were paying to get into the water park right then and there on the island.
