Besides sitting on the beach or swimming, what other activities are available on Catalina Island?
Can you rent a catamaran to take out on the water?
Are there any shops or other activities if water-sports are not not desireable?
We will then go to Casa de Campo for the evening.
Any suggestions for places to go or places to see while there?
Catalina is a beautiful island, when I was there several years ago, took a tour to the airport which is located on the top of this mountain. The bus ride up was something in itself. Large mirrors on the sharp narrow turns in the road to see if anything is coming around the corner.
Catalina Isl. does have some small shops--usual tourista stuff & aggressive shopkeepers . We didn't like this stop very much--the beach was OK but the snorkeling area was nearby rocks & we did not feel safe leaving stuff on the beach..headed back to the ship &* had a great day! Our tablemates went to Al;tos de Chavon & had a much better time..
