Default Rum Cakes

I am addicted to the Rum Cakes we get from Grand Cayman, but this year we aren't going to the Caymans we are going to Nassau and CoCo Cay fior a short weekend Cruise. Can we buy the Rum Cakes in Nassau? I know they will have them on the ship too, but there isn't a huge selection like in the stores.

You will find that these items are all over the Caribbean and the Bahamas and often a pretty large selection as well. Mostly in the shops near the pier or in the tourist areas.

Watch the dates on them! We bought a few only to find that they expired a month ago.

My favorite is the Jablum blue mountain coffee! I plan to stock up. Heck, I'm even bringing an extra duffle back to haul it home!

We buy the rum cakes off their internet site. They are the best. The advantage of buying the rum cakes on the internet is that leaves you more room in your suitcase to haul back the things you can't buy on the internet........the RUM!!!!

I was in Grand Cayman about 5 years ago and became addicted to those rum cakes. I brought 10 home with me. I was extremely sad when I ran out and found out that you can order them online and have them Fedx'd to your address. I think you have to look under Tortuga Rum Cakes, Grand Cayman. If you can't find it there, just get on the Grand Cayman website and I'm sure they will have something there.

They only problem with ordering them online is...... You don't get to go to these Beautiful Islands to get them

Can't wait to get some cakes - they are so so good and make great souveniers although obviously take up too much space.

Can you also buy the rumcakes on board? I thought a friend of mine said she bought the tortuga rum cakes on the ship. Could be wrong though.

Yes, I bought them on board. the Inspiration. They have the big cakes and a box with several smaller sizes (different flavors). The ship will not have a large selection, but they will be there.

Thanks cali-croozer. I love those cakes. My co-worker goes on a cruise once a year and brings back tons with the different flavors. I love the coconut and orange the best.

I just found out that there's a place on Bay Street called The Bahama Rum Cake Factory (I think). They have a website. The make them right there. They only make 3 flavors though. I'm going to buy some when I'm in Nassau later this month, for sure. I love the ones in Grand Cayman. They're yummy. Last summer, we went on a cruise to Alaska. They had rum cakes on clearance on the ship. The ship had been on a Mexican Riveria itinerary before Alaska. So I guess they had some left over. It was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't planning on getting any rum cake on my Alaska cruise. And at 50% off, it was even better.

When I was on RCCL to the Bahamas, they sold the rum cakes right on the ship.
