Can anyone tell me if the snorkeling is better on a reef snorkel trip than it is off the shore at Chankanaab Park? We snorkeled from the shore last year and saw a lot. We brought cereal to feed the fish which really attracted them. I'm booked to go again in August with my kids and really don't want to pay for a snorkel trip if we're going to see pretty much the same thing we saw from snorkeling off the shore. None of us are really experienced snorkelers so we don't go under water. Just float around on the surface.

i talk to poeple that did a reef dive on the this after we left cozmel, i told them what we saw and they felt they wasted money. we saw all kinds of fish from shore. and we did the same with cereal and worked great
Thank timr. I really didn't feel like spending $40-$50/pp to see the same thing I could see from the shore.

Darcy, we did the tour out to the Palencaar Reef and it was amazing, saw all kinds of fish, an eel, barracuda, and our dive master spotted a turtle, dove down, brought it up for all of us to see, lots of coral, it was a great experience.
We tryed two years ago to go out of palencar, it was calm at the peir but very rough at the beach so they weren't going out on tours. We've also heard good things. I thought it was $25 pp at that time (I think).
