I think a lot depends on what berths are open at what piers.........There is a newer Carlos N Charlies in Cozumel. You CAN walk it, but the cab ride isn't very expensive. Our Carnival ships for the past several years have berthed at the one farthest from Carlos. RC has berthed at the one closest............still a short fun ride.......or a nice walk.
from cozmel international pier it is a $6.00 cab ride. they know where to go and several taxis out forn to take you back. make sure you ask for a bib and then sit back and enjoy. hehehehe. was ther last week and look out they can hurt you with the yard drinks. what ever you do dont drink 5 your wife wil not be happy. first hand knowledge. easy to get around cozmel taxis everywhere. so go enjoy
You can go to cozumelinsider.com, under island information there is a cruise ship schedule link. It is for the current week. It tells you which pier your ship will dock at. Punta Langosta (sp?) is the one right in San Miguel that you can walk to C&C. Other posters are correct in saying that the cab fare from the other pier is cheap, so it doesn't really matter.
I think most people take a wheelchair back to the ship from there. Recommend tying your ships beach towel around your neck like a superman cape..that way they know which ship to wheel you back to. Not that I have any personal experience with this or anything <G>
agree with the above. Just make sure you've punched a hole in your Sail n Sign card and hung it around your neck so they'll know what cabin to pour you into when you get back. Also, there are now little bicycle rickshaws that will ferry you from the street to the gangway.
We have been to Carlos and Charlies several time it is within walking distance from the pier. But if you dock at the International Pier town is about one mile away. It is a great place and so much fun.
