Default after the dolphin swim in Nassau

When we are done with the dolphin swim, will we need to take the ferry back right away or do you get to hang out and stay at the island? My husband is going to watch and will we later swim or just get back on the ferry? Where is the straw market in Nassau? Will that be easy to get to after we do the dolphin swim? Thanks for all the information you can give! 20 days to go!

It depends on what time you are done with the swim and what time your ship leaves back out. Ferrys go at differrent times so if you don't have to get right back you could stay. We swam at 1 or 1:30 and we had to be cack at the ship by5 so we had to hustle and get right back. As far as the strw market, it is walking distance from the ship. It is less crowded if you go to it in the early morning. We went shopping, then went back to the ship and ate lunch, then took a cab to where we picked up the ferry. Try and go see the Atlantis is is beautiful. Have a great cruise

as Carol mentioned it all depends upon the time of your swim and the ferry schedule. Just plan your time, you need to be back on the ship 45minutes to 1 hour before sailing.

This should work out great. I booked the 10:00am swim so we will have lots of time. We will want to get back in time for dinner but that should still give us xtra time! Thanks

What all do you recommend doing at the Atlantis?? We will only be in Nassau from 7:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. It will be 4 of us - 2 - 18 year olds (boy and girl) and 2 40+ women! Thanks

Your 18 year olds will like Senor Frogs. It's a restaurant located at the straw market. The straw market is right off the docks. Lots of fun shopping there. Remember, the word is barter. We did the aquarium and dig tour in Atlantis. It was good but expensive. I'm not sure if your 18 year olds will want to do it. You can check out the hotel and part of the aquarium for free. You just can't do the dig for free and that means missing a lot of the aquarium. There are beaches to see and other excursions available off of the ship. We did Atlantis on our own. Atlantis was beautiful but I'm not sure it's worth all the money we spent. I have some pictures of the hotel posted on the photo gallery. See if it appeals to you and your teenagers.

Can you tell me how to go about seeing Atlantis on our own OR should we take a ship excursion??????? Can we walk from the ship? Ferry? Taxi?? What is the cost to go see Atlantis-or is there one? Thanks.

Don't pay the ship to get you there....if it's just transport you need .there will be loads of mini vans waiting.....from what I remember it was about $12 for four of us, too far to walk. When you dock it looks nearer but you need a taxi van. They drop you outside , walk through hotel to the aquarium which is free (takes about 20 mins to do) and you can access the beach there also. They will not let you walk to the section where the Mayan Ruin slide etc is. If you want access to this and their own artifical Carib beach and pools the day pass was about 150 for the four of us. (Photo attached is of rays as you walk over a bridge)
