Default Grand Cayman -7 mile beach

How far is the start 7 mile beach from the seaport where the cruise ships dock. also is 7 mile beach nice where it starts. Rumors have varied regarding this with some that a taxi is needed and others than its one mile away and an easy walk.

You will need to take a taxi. It is a long walk and on the other side of the Georgetown.
Very nice beach, wide sandy and very clean. There are many big name hotels. I have been to Cayman many time mostly to dive. Back in the 70's is was small and cozy, good place to relax. It is half way to Costa Rica, where my EX had a business.
Now it is over run with banks, expensive shopping. the people are still friendly. Watch for the traffic as they drive on the left like in England.

Im getting different opinions, some people say it is one mile others say it is much longer. See http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/f...-topic606.html

Do you agree with this or disagree. This post suggests its about a mile walk from the port where the cruise ships dock.

There is a bus terminal a short walk from the pier. Ask directions. The fare is $2 to 7 mile beach. Too far to walk.

We took a cab. Don't remember how much it was...but was not a big amount. Very nice beach - I'll go again next time!

There really aren't any nice beaches with facilities within walking distance of the piers. The taxi ride to 7 mile Beach is $3-4 each way pp depending on where you want to go. My personal favorite is Sea Grape Beach. It is located a little farther North but it's away from a lot of the condos & hotels. The cost is $4.00 pp each way by taxi. The entrance is free and they have a bar & grill onsite as well as chair, locker, towel, umbrella and water sprot rentals.
It's worth the $6-8 each way to be able to take a shower afterwards as well as have all the facilities.
