Default Navigator of the Sea

We are cruising on the NOS out of Miami in November. This is out first cruise. Whats it like boarding out of Miami. I'm afriaid of heights. Is the gangway enclosed or do you think the height boarding the ship will be a problem for me? Thanks.

We were on the NOS in March 2005.....no problem boarding out of Miami....you enter through the RCCL terminal, fill out your various papers at the counter and take the escalator up to where you board the ship. It is fully enclosed and level. Whenever you visit a port, the "gangplank" is put out at whatever deck is nearest to the height of the pier....The only "scary" disembarkment (?) is if you are tendered to the port, i.e. you will have to step from the ship on to the ferry. There are many of the ship's crew to help you however.

What ports will you be visiting?

Cave tubing in Belize City is really fun. Horseback riding in Costa Maya was fun also. We were not able to visit Grand Cayman due to problems after a storm.....the port was closed. Check on it before booking a tour there. We were not told that the port was not open until we were within sight of Grand Cayman, then the Captain announced that the tenders could not come out to pick us up. We had planned to "swim with the manta rays" in Grand Cayman so the grandchildren were really disappointed.

We just got off the Navigator a few days ago. There was a family infornt of us and the father stopped just shot of the doorway to make a big dramatic enterance onto the ship and then he looked around and realized he was already on the ship. Very funny.
So I do not think you will have any troubles.
