Default Smith cove- grand Cayman

Has anyone been to Smith cove? Was the water smooth or rough? Will be traveling with kids ages 12 months to 9 years. We are looking for a quiet place to snorkle where we can walk off the beach. Any suggestions?

Melissa,
That's where we went. Am planning on going again and our friends who went on the Miracle in June loved it! Will let you know what's up

Just went there a couple of weeks ago, our second time. We had good weather both times so the water was smooth. If you need to rent snorkel equipment, stop by Eden Rock Dive shop first. Some of the people in your group might want to snorkel there first before heading on to Smith Cove. It's a good mile walk from the dive shop; you might want to try to get a taxi. We've never had luck as the dock area is just so conjested with people wanting to go the opposite way, to the 7 mile beach. Also, the only facilities at the beach are a small bathroom and a few picnic tables, so be sure to at least bring water.
