Just checking in. My countdown clock is looking better. I don't remember ever having one for this cruise but-I appreciate it!
I saw a picture of the Ruby Princess today-it's in the floating dock for outfitting-it's now white with the name on the back and looks "real". Interior work and other details will be done from now on until she comes over for her inauguration cruise in November. It seems like a long time, still.
Our computer has been down for the last week-off and on but mostly off. We switched to a different server and the aerial signal was being blocked by the trees. We tried to tell them it would happen. I'm happy to be back online--I've missed posting here and elsewhere.
How is Ashley doing? I think of her. And, my niece, Sarah, is about 3 weeks away from delivery. The Dr. doesn't think the baby will make it to 5lbs due to internal structure. And, she was just in the hospital for emergency hernia surgery. Ouch. But, she's basically doing OK otherwise.
I just wanted to say hello. It's been a long day. i was at work for a 7:30 mandatory employees' meeting because I couldn't make the later two choices.
Goodnight. Love, Lynnie-ROSE
I am sad to say that yes the cruise has been canceled. I do feel aweful for messing up the cruise of my moms dreams. She has decided to still go on one but it wont be the same. And boy will I miss her at that time. I am doing well, although I have been feeling sick to my stomach. I am very anxious to find out what sex it will be. I am very scared to become a mommy though. To have a little life depend on ME, wow!! Although if I am anything like my mom is I will be just fine. She has taught me well. She deserves this cruise with my Dad. They have worked so hard on their relationship and I am soo proud of them. Although I and BEAN will miss her terribly especially during that time I hope she has the best of time ever. Well anyway I have to get back to work. Hope all is well with you Lynn and Trevor. Talk to you all later.
Hello Lynn, I have decied to go on the Carnival Valor. $100 onboard credit and a very good price. Ron (my x) will be going with me. He has been sober 15 months today and has found God and got baptized. He is truley a different person. I pray it stays that way one day at a time.
Ashley is doing ok. She calls the baby Bean as that is how big it is right now. My birthday was Saturday and she bought me one of those willow tree of a Grandma with a baby. I have it right by my chair and i rub it's little head and tell it I love them and can't wait to see them.
Hi Pixie Girl and Carol
Bean is a cute little name to be calling the baby. If it is a boy, then you'll have to name him something that starts with a B-like Brad, or Brian or Ben-since you're so used to the B sound!! .
Carol, I'm glad you decided to go on a cruise. And, I'm glad it will be with Rob-you two have remained friends and lived through his "rebirth". It will be a special time for the two of you.
Ashley-all you need to know is that you will be an excellent mother. All of us are afraid, especially with the first one. But, I really looked forward to having Jamie. I had some tough mornings and endured some bed rest in the first 2-3 months but then everything was fine. You and Justin will make great parents. Look at your mother-you know she brought you up well and really has been there for you. And, your dad stayed in the picture, too.
So, we shall celebrate your new blessing and your mom's cruise. Life couldn't be ROSIER!!
Take care--It is a quiet Tuesday here. Trevor is napping-I go out to singing rehearsal in a few minutes.
Just checking in. I had to come on , also, to see the countdown clock and how many days we have left before November 15. It's getting there.
Not much to tell. My younger son called last night and inquired towards the end of our conversation about whether we're going to go to New York City in May for our granddaughter's concert in Carnegie Hall.
We really can't afford it and would have to cancel the November cruise. About the only way for me to get up there is to have him send me a plane ticket-he said he'd help out someway. But, where to stay? Etc.
My step-daughter and family already have reservations and plans made. I'm not going to give up the cruise because it may be the last one for awhile. However, I have two different roll calls talking about a reunion cruise for next year. Help!!!! .
After a high of 85 yesterday and 82 today, it will be 72 at the highest tomorrow. However, we'll be back into the 80's again by the end of the week. I know-it's cold up there!
Take care for now. It's time for bed-going on midnight-but-I can sleep in tomorrow-my day off. Still strange to have it on a Tuesday!
Just thought I would check in and say hello and see what my countdown was. I am under 300, that is good.
It is very ugly here in Ohio. We had more smow mixed with rain last night. Ashley came and stayed all night with me so she could get here. She lives clear out in the boon docks so Dustin brought her in here. She is still a bed hog just like when she was little. She is showing already. She will only be 10 weeks Sat. She said she will be happy when the Dr tells her she only has one in there. Ha Her Dad is a twin. She has been real sick, this week has been a little better, last week she got NO food in.
It's Sunday already! Your cruise looks to be about a month after ours, if our numbers are right.
Good news from work-I've got my Saturdays back for March, anyway. I was just hoping to have the Chorale rehearsal time off first thing in the mornings but she gave me the entire day. Our little 20 year old volunteer isn't going to like it, since she is now dating someone from out of town and sees him Friday nights and Saturdays. But, we're OK-and she said they'll work with it. Our concerts will be over April 6, so this may just be an alternating schedule, but I'll take it!
I hope Ashley is feeling better now. My former s-i-l sent emails out of my niece's sonograms of her baby. Fully developed but small. She is due in a couple of weeks.
Our roll call is getting more active. I think someone is going to make us buttons for the group which will be nice. Did I tell you-the name of the our group is RIC--Ruby Inaugural Cruisers. I got to thinking to day that it should be the E-RICs--Excited Ruby Inaugural Cruisers!
So, I hope your weather gets better soon. Right now it's 75 degrees and sunny. (whoops, sorry )
Just thought I would check in. Nothing really going on with me. Well I am still having trouble with my leg and now I have to where those support stockings. Blah.
Ashley is showing already. She is now 13 weeks. HSe looks like she is about 5 months or more. She had to leave work today because she is VERY dizzy. She called the Dr and she had her leave and she goes to see her at 2. She still cannot eat very well. So far she has lost 10 pounds. We are going to have a 3D ultra sound done in Columbus on April 12th so we will know what the baby is then. I can't wait to know. SHOP SHOP SHOP
I am looking forward to my cruise in December. We have a balcony room on the Lido deck. We figure we can get our food and go back to our balcony and eat. I am ready. It has been awhile now. I have the fever.
I'm here. I've been checking the boards tonight-it's been so long. I beat Trevor at a game of Scrabble he should have won-he wasn't happy.
I hope that Ashley is doing better. It's tough to be so sick as she has been.
Our roll call is going great guns-very active. It should be a good time. I know you are ready to go on yours.
We had Trevor's 18 year old grandson, Josh, from Dayton here for 3 days. He called Sunday and arrived Monday! His mother works for Delta so he gets to fly free. He was here 3 years ago and has grown taller! This time he brought his new laptop with him so he stayed off our computer. He chatted on it most of the time, while watching TV and talking with us.
Tomorrow, Irene, my stepdaughter and the 3 younger kids, including 15 year old Katie will be arriving for most of the weekend while Irene's husband is away on business. This is the first time in a long time that we've had Irene to ourselves. Trevor will really enjoy it. They only live an hour away but we don't see them much.
So, sweet dreams of your cruise. I hope you don't get any more 11" snowfalls, although I heard it was in the 30's in Ohio this week! 85, humid down here.
I'm here. Not much to report. Our roll call is pretty active but I've only been on about once a week.
I was told by my boss that my Assisted Living Activities scored 93% on a recent customer services survey. That's pretty good, since it's mostly me doing it. That might quiet some critics who don't think the residents have enough to do. Many CAN'T do!
So, I hope everything is going well with you, Ashley and the family.
Just thought I would say hello. It is finally getting nice here. Today it is 73.
I bought a new camper and it got delivered yesterday. I have it premanately placed. My other one was a 1977. This one is not new it is a 2004 but it is new to me. I can't wait to go there tonight. I took tomorrow off to get everything organized.
Things are going good. The baby is starting to kick now. She has felt her all day. I can't wait till I can feel her do that. She changed her name to gracie Ruth. That was my pick all along. I love that.
I bought my plane tickets for December. We are flying into Ft Lauderdale, but we leave out of Miami. I can't wait. It has been a few years for me since I cruised.
Hope everything is good with you. Tell Trevor hello
It's been a long time-but have been busy and not enough time to post every where I need to be-thank goodness for email.
I'm glad that Gracie Ruth is coming along strong, When the baby starts to kick then you know everything is on the right track. We are still awaiting the birth of Zachary. He's due June 7 but is breech. The procedure to turn him failed last Friday so it will be tried again in the next few days. If all else fails, he'll be born C-section. That's too bad for a first child when you want everything to happen perfectly but they are all right with it. I would expect that Katy is a little anxious at this point. I will be travelling to NYC by train in July to see them all.
We have 24 Fridays left until our cruise and the roll call is getting very large-maybe bigger than the 2004 cruise. I hope that many of our group will stick together for a long time and not split like the 2004 one did. I think that you and we are the only ones still in touch. A good match!
With it being National Nursing Home Week last week-it was "Cruise Week" for our facility. We've had them before but this one seemed very real because the wall coverings were the water/sky, ship deck (looked like Promenade but was called "Lido" all week). There were deck chairs , leaping dolphins, an island in the distant. Very real to me. There was a sailaway party (Leave the Deck) followed by Casino Day. There was a Chef's demonstration, Ballroom Dancing Demo, Talent Show, Hawiian Day, pictures with the Captain, etc. I hated to see it end! The coverings are still up as well as the Hawaiin decorations (we went to China, Italian Riviier and Hawaii! and had a Sea Day inbetween). This week we are back to normal.
So, take care. We were still on page 1. I couldn't believe it! .
