Is it hard on your own to get the ferry and head there??? We are in dock only 7 a.m.-3:30. Don't really want to do an excursion, just go on our own?? Ferry's far from ship and how would we be time wise????
It can be done on your own. Check bviwelcome.com for ferry schedules. Understand that ferry schedules are VERY "loose" in the bVI's. They will wait 45 minutes for a local who got stuck at work to catch a ferry.
Take a ferry from Roadtown (right near cruise pier) to Virgin Gorda. Taxi to the Baths.
Give yourself at least two hours or more to return.
Personally although I am comfortable travelling interisland in the BVI's this is one I would do as a ship's excursion due to the unreliable schedules on the ferries.
THanks for the great info! Look and see what excursions Carnival offers! Thanks!

I am also pretty comfortable with the ferry transportation to Virgin Gorda -did it when we stopped there BUT given your limited time frame and occasionally eccentric ferry scheds - it is probably better if you did a ship's excursion. When we did it we had all day (until 5:30PM) but to be on the safe side we made sure we were back before 3PM.
