El Gaucho is a very nice rest. Argentianan--beef but a varied menu with great service. a short $5 dollar cab ride from pier for 4 incl tip or plus tip--not sure....prices high but not excessive--dress casual--also a nice cigar bar across the street El garufo--plenty of taxis to go back to ship You can check out the website, look over the menu & reserve on line... We wer very pleased with our choice. Note--this is not in the hotel or palm beach area--we explored over there during the day--& then went out to dinner later--we were on brilliance & that night is Carib night--best to eat out we were told--can then return for the late buffet on deck... you seem to have alot of ques good luck

Doc,

The previous post is dead on. I have not cruised to Aruba, but I worked there many times and El Gaucho's is the #1 best restaurant on Aruba. You will pay around $30 per person for a meal and a drink but it is definitely worth it. If you get good directions, you can walk from the pier to the restaurant in less than fifteen minutes. The website is

www.elgaucho-aruba.com

Definitely, definitely make a reservation from the ship via the website or you will wait and wait and wait. The Gaucho Steak is the best steak you will ever eat, assuming you can eat it all.

But don't expect American fasidiousness and cleanliness. After all, it's the islands, mon.

Enjoy.

El Gaucho - HANDS DOWN! It's advertised on Aruba as being one of the best places to eat, a bit pricey (hey, everything is imported!), and skip lunch because apparently they serve very LARGE portions!

We went back to Aruba last year for 2 weeks & in all the hustle & bustle, we never made it there.

Default Italian on the Water

There's also a really good Italian place right there by the cruise ships that's on the water right before the water overpass in front of that hotel (help me out here folks!).

Great place to eat & watch the sunset.
