What to do with luggage in San Juan Puerto Rico?

Hi, we arrive in San Juan in the morning and our Carnival Cruise departs at 10 pm that evening. What can we do with our luggage in the meantime?

We want to spend that day sight seeing, and don't want to be lugging our suitcases every where we go. Is it possible to leave the luggage on the ship? Or are there lockers at the airport or anywhere else?

Any practical suggestions will be welcome.

Depend on what time you arrive and what pier you are leaving from.If your flight arrives around 11am you can go to the ship and leave your bags there.I hope you are leaving from Pier 4,if you are that is great because you will be at Old San Juan,and you can tour from there.As you come out from the pier there is a free [yes free]shuttle to the left of the pier which take you up to the fort.Coming back it goes into old SJ then derop-s you off where you started then you can walk back there on your own.
If you are out at the Pan American dock you may have to take a cab in.There are usually people looking to share a cab.The cost is about$10 each way.

So we really can leave our luggage on the ship starting at 11am? I thought we wouldn't be able to access the ship until about 3 hours before sailing.

I don't know which pier we're leaving from, but I'll look it up tonight.

When we sailed from San Juan we were able to board the ship around noon and leave our luggage and get back off of the ship to do some touring.

how early is your flight getting in?
If you get in any time after 11 am you should have no problem going to the pier and checking in your bags. Make sure that all your bags are tagged correctly so that they will get to your stateroom.
If you are getting in really early you might want to look into a pre-cruise ships excursion. A day-stay at one of the hotels is also another option
Storing your luggage at the airport is another option, but its not really all that convenient, you would have to go back and forth by taxi(grab a cab at the airport, go touring, grab another cab back to the airport to retreive your luggage, grab another cab to the pier)
