We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for a pre-cruise for 2 days. Nice place! In the middle of everything. There was some construction going on (this is back in April) & pretty much all buildings are literally built on top of each other (think less than 5 feet apart - like NYC).
We did a tour from our hotel of the Observatory which included a Cave Tour. It's an all day event.
There's a wonderful restaurant just down the street (head towards the right when you walk out & then right again at the main street section). It's about 3-4 blocks down & they serve Argentina beef (if you are a meat lover!). This steak is more flavorful than our own beef here in the U.S. Just melts in your mouth. There's also a Walgreens(?) right behind it if you forgot any last minute things plus a few other restaurants.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat & ignore the bigger, pricer hotels. You are only using it for sleeping/showers only. They have a nice pool also. I think our room rate was like $79 a night.
