We went to the beach at Majahual. It wasn't rowdy when we were there. I don't know what you consider crowded. We found places to sit, but it sure wasn't deserted! Not a lot of lounge chairs around, but there were some to be found. The sand part of the beach isn't wide.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
The last time we were in Costa Maya we went to Uvero Beach. While it was crowded, it wasn't rowdy. The only thing I didn't care for was the sea grass. I've seen other posts where people have been to the Tequila Beach Club and had a great time there.
We were at Uvero beach this past week...three ships in port and not crowded at all. Yes, lots of sea grass but lots of treasures to be found there if you snorkel. Other options there include (for a fee) kayak, parasailing, dolphine swim - to name a few. They have showers and changing area - two bars, restaurant and VERY CLEAN.
