Default Dominica - Tour Guide Suggestions

Has anyone done the 5 1/2 hour tour of Dominica with Fredo to Emerald Pool, Trafalgar Square, the Mourne and a few other places? How strenuous would you say it was? We are in our early fifties and workout regularly.

Get off the boat and find one of the locals with a Taxi. Rent him for the day and forget the Ship Excursions! Slip the cost with another couple. Save money, see and do more, and get away from the ship crowds. Dominica is such a unique place, you need to see all of it that you can! It's a jungle island with beautiful plants, waterfalls, and so much natural beauty to be discovered! Have fun.

Hi Arie,

We're back and here's our report on the tour with Fredos. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the island. Don't think there is anything he didn't show us during the tour from 9:30-4:45! All for $40 each.

We were with a group of 12. He got us to lots of spots before the crowds which was great. My only suggestion would be that if you want to focus on certain sights more fully instead of doing everything - arrange that ahead of time. While we saw everything promised and more...we were getting a little antsy about getting back to the ship on time....since we hit rain and some of the roads are not that good. ( I never like to fool with Murphy's law) and since this was not arranged through the cruise line the ship wouldn't wait for us if anything happened to delay us.

Have a great time on Dominica...it's an unspoiled beauty!
