Default Soufriere Excursion

How bad is the trip from port to Soufriere? I heard that it causes a lot of people to become ill from motion sickness. We're trying to decide whether to take the excursion that is bus there and boat back or the one that is by boat both ways.

The Soufriere road trip is not that bad, yes the roads are very winding simply because it St.Lucia is a very mountainous island, you might want take some motion sickness pills with you just in case. I would do the land tour just because the island is so lush and scenic. We have found private touring to be way cheaper than going through the ship. In St.Lucia we used a private taxi Phillip Tours St.Lucia, philliptours@hotmail.com to do a tour of the island including Soufriere, refreshments were also provided, loved that rum punch ! When leaving port you will also get a wonderful view of the Pitons, our captain on the SOS took up right up to the Pitons that way everyone got a view of them.
