We are looking at going on the Carnival Miracle Aug. 13 to the Western Caribbean (Costa Maya, Belize, Cayman, Cozumel). Does anyone know what the weather is normally like in these areas during these times? I know it is hurricane season, so are we taking a big chance with going during this time?
We went on the Victory in august 2005 and it was very humid. When i was in the water it was great. We were having so much fun we really didn't mind. There was the ocassionally thunderstorm that lasted for a few minutes. It wasn't clear skies either lots of clouds. We went on it because the price was good luckily no hurricanes.
Temps in the Caribbean "normally" (whatever normal means) don't vary by more than 10 -15 degrees year round, though summer months can have higher humidity.
And, as was pointed out, it is hurricane season... so be prepared for itinerary changes if there's one headed in the direction of any of your ports of call.
