Default Question for Kuki re: Half Moon Cay

I will be going to Half Moon Cay in October and will be docked from 9:30am to 6:00pm. I read a review that you did for the Cabana's. I was wondering if it's worth the price. I will be traveling with my husband and my parents. My dad doesn't care much about being in the sun, in fact he's not really wanting to go on this cruise but he's doing it for my mom. He doesn't like to go on vacation. I think he'll have a great time but wonder if he would like the cabana. Also, do you pay for the food & drinks there or is it better to go back to the ship to eat? I'm excited about going to this island as it sounds like such a wonderful way to relax. Any information about the island would be much appreciated.

Hi Nikky,

The Cabana's on Half Moon Cay are not cheap, but they are terrific! With the cost split 4 ways the per person cost becomes a bit more tolerable.

The island is the most beautiful of the private islands. It's owned my HAL and the food is just like it is on the ship... FREE. There will also be water, and soft drinks in the fridge waiting for you, which will be included in the cabanas cost.

The cabana boys will go to the bar b q area and bring all your food, so no standing in line for you. Blue floats are also included, so you can lay out on the water, or paddle around, and then come to the comfort of the cabana.

No question, next time I go back to Half Moon Cay, I'd get a cabana again.

Default Caban Question too!

Kuki - I too was wondering about the cabana. I was wondering about cabana color and location on the beach? What color would you recommend and do you know how far in advance you can reserve this with Holland America? Thank you!

In case you haven't read it here's an article I wrote about the cabanas
http://cruisemates.com/articles/feature/HalCabana.cfm

We had the turquoise cabana, and loved the location, right in the middle, with a nice tree on one side.

You can prebook it on the shore excursion page at HAL, just as you would any excursions.
