Default Restaurants in Galveston, TX near Sea Wall Blvd. Pre cruise

Hi! We are doing a pre-cruise night at the Hotel Galvez in Galveston the end of this month. Can any one recommend a good restaurant? Has any one eaten at Bernardo's in the Hotel Galvez? Thanks for your input!

Hi KM,

Check out http://www.galveston.com/ for all kinds of information about Galveston, including restaurants.

We've eaten at Joe's Crab Shack-very good seafood and at Salsa's for Mexican food.

Never ate at Bernardo's, but it's probably very good (and $$$$!)

You'll have many choices, as there are a LOT of restaurants on Seawall Blvd.

Have a wonderful cruise!

Galveston native here. Although I live in Oregon now, I visit several times per year. Most of the restaurants in Galveston are owned by the Landry's chains. This includes Joe's Crab Shack, Pier 22, Fish Tales, WillG's, etc. The local restaurant at which I have never had a bad meal is Gaido's. It's on the seawall about a mile from your hotel. Fish Tales, 25th and Seawll has a balcony where you can watch the water and the "mermaids" on the side of the Flagship Hotel. Big brew-ha-ha when they were installed there, as they have "bosoms" and some objected. One of my favorite things in Galveston is to sit on the balcony at Fish Tales, drinking a Shiner Bock draft and watch the mermaids. Oh, for the careful days of my youth!

If you have children, you might also enjoy Rainforest Cafe. Food is good and plentiful and the jungle atmosphere and sound effects entertain the kids.
