Booked on Princess to the Southern Caribbean next January, and Isla Margarita is one of the scheduled ports.
I'm looking for input as to what to do or to avoid at that port, as I know nothing about it.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

We were there a few years ago, and there was not really anything to see at the pier. I'd advise to just book an excursion and see some of the island. Hopefully its built up a little more in the last few years.
I appreciate your reply. I've read some real negative remarks on another cruise website about that port, so am a little concerned. We'll have to look at the ship's excursions when they become available.

We were just at Isla Margarita in January on our westboundTtransatlantic journey 0n the MSC Opera. There is a nice beach a very short walk from the ship. You will see numerous booths right as you exit the ship to do some shopping. There is no town for probably ten miles from the ship so I recommend you take the island tour. Ours was five hours for $38.00 which we felt was a bargain, and very interesting.

Depends on what you like to do. We're beachers--have taken the " chiva" trip to the beach.. They feed you lots of drinks and salsa dance on an old scvhool bus. Waves at beach are high, but very pleasant. Some toplessness.
