chachoban ruins we visted these ruins were very intresting if you want
more information abou these ruins go to carnival. com go to excursion
put in coasta maya and it will bring up all the shore trips hope this helps
I agree with paddletoe53. If you want to see the ruins it would be better to do a ship's tour. The shortest tour I've seen is 5 hours and I wouldn't take the chance with a private supplier. If a ship's tour is late, they'll wait for you. If you use a private supplier and they're late, you're on your own!
Don't know about the beaches, sorry .
Have a wonderful cruise!

I have booked with a private company very highly recommended for this April. Just read the history of these tour guides on their website (almopst brings tears to your eyes)

I HIGHLY recommend David and Ivan, too. We booked with them on our last cruise and had a fantastic time! They have reliable vehicles and have a top rate tour! We did this excursion in the morning, got back to Majahual in time for a late lunch, spent the afternoon at the beach and then went back to the ship.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
I visited these ruins last March on a Celebrity Panama Canal cruise. I took the ship excursion and really enjoyed it. I was disappointed, however, that you are not allowed on the ruins. I too wanted to climb a pyramid.
