We will be in Nassau fromm 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Two couples of which one of the men is blind. I am in charge of all the logistics and need to get some idea of how to find a good driver/guide. We want someone that will take us from the dock to some of the attractions such as the Astoria Gardens, the Stairs, a resturant for lunch where the locals eat and then drop us at Atlantus so that we can do The Dig and finish the day at the casino. Then we will take a water taxi back to the dock.
I would expect our driver to stay with us and enjoy lunch on us. I do not mind paying top dollar for a top notch driver. Question is: How do I go about getting one and how much should I pay without being taken advantage of? Any help with this matter and any sugestions as to where we should go and what we should see will be greatlly appreciated. This may be the only time we will be in Nassau.
Good question! Never seen that posted before. My suggestion? Contact probably one of the driving services in Nassau & tell them your plan.
Or if you can email/call the Atlantis Hotel, they might be able to recommend a company. I'm sure there's a company who would help you, people get married all the time in the Bahamas so there has to be some sort of driving service.
I didn't see the Gardens, but I did see the stairs. It's kinda pretty in a tropical setting. Everything is fairly close by so its not too much driving around. There was a nice restaurant I ate at - don't remember the name. But its to the right of the bridge as you head over to the Atlantis right on the water. Cute little place, not expensive.
We will be in Naussau next week and I was thinking about hiring a local driver for the day visiting most of the places you mentioned. We will be attending High Tea at the British Colonial Hotel as my wife just loves those things. Did you have any luck locating a driver?
I don't have a specfic deiver but I did learn that we can get one at the main Tour Desk in Festival Place. The cost will be about $120.00 for 4 hours for a party of 4. Some of the better places to see are: Queen's Staircase, Fort Fincastle, Fort Charlette, Ardastra Gardens and the Nassau Botinical Garden (18 acres- across from Ardastra Gardens), and (of course) Atlantis. You may also want to spend some time at Cable Beach where you will find Traveller's rest - a good restaurant.
Hope this is of some help.
Perhaps you would not mind giving me some suggestions of what to do and where to go after you return. My email is: email@example.com
Thanks for the information. We leave Saturday and will be in Nassau next Wednesday so i will let you know what we end up doing. My wife is looking forward to Adarstra Gardens and the High Tea at the British Colonial Hotel. Other than that we are pretty open at this point. Have a great day.
My DH and I will be in Nassau in a couple of weeks. Please write a review when you get back. This will be our first time in Nassau and we would love to hear about your trip, and also get some ideas about what to do.
