Default Montego Bay

I am planning on sailing on the Conquest and would like ideas for our time in Jamaica. We have two young children who will be ages 4 and 1 so I was thinking something that includes time at a beach. I understand a lot of people don't look at Jamaica as being safe and I uderstand that however I don't go on vacation to stay on the ship the entire time when there is an interesting island to explore.

I would appreciate any ideas that people may have for a family.

Thanks

We are on the Conquest in February too. Having been to Jamaica before - To Ocho Rios - we are a little nervous about some of the characters running private tours. So we will book throught the ship. The cruise ships have decent ones even though they are a little pricey.

your best bet for your family would be to book a day pass at one of the many hotel/resorts on the beach

I agree with Lisak,

Book a all day pass. I here Sunset Beach resort is good with a new water park for kid. Price a believe is $40.00 Adults and $20.00 kids not sure on age. All you can eat and drink included. close to cruise terminal.

Sunset Beach isn't a bad plan, although it was much cheaper before the water park:

The downside is you don't see much of the area.

Not so much for the 4 and 1yr but a lot of people like Margaritaville. not far from there is the Pork Pit which has great Jamaican Jerk (pork, chicken, shrimp, etc).

There are also some beaches in that area including Doctors Cave

There is a tourist bureau at the port which can tell you what the taxi fares are to various places. Maybe negotiate driving tour of some sort with a taxi driver and then some beach time and then some cocktails and food?

I have two cruises this year that will make stops in Montego Bay, and no way am I staying on the ship.
