Default SAN JUAN HOTEL that has SHOW @ NIGHT?

I remember reading somewheres (and of course now that I need it I can't find it!) that there was a hotel in San Juan that offered some kind of a show with dancing (and singing I think) at night.

Our ship will only be in San Juan from 5 - 12pm and after we do the Coach/Dooney shopping we want to book the show, if I can find it....

Anyone know what I'm talking about? The name of the hotel? The name of the show? Is there such a thing?

Thnx all....

Elaine

Thnx for your response. I actually called the San Juan Vistors Bureau today and she also couldn't find the show.

I also called the El San Juan Resort & Casino and they told me that didn't have the show there, and didn't know where it might be.

Anyone else??????????????????

You may be talking about Juan Carlos and His Flamenco Rumba Show, which used to play at The San Juan Grand (now InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino in Isla Verde). You may want to contact the property direct at 787-791-6100, or contact again the PR Convention if this the performer you are looking for.

I did a quick search on Google and saw that he had a holiday performance at the Paradisus Puerto Rico in Rio Grande in December.

Carnival's web site shows Juan Carlos as one of their San Juan excursions in selected sailings.

Thanks FLAPR.....you're the best... I cant tell you how long and hard I've been looking for that show...Juan Carlos etc.... I even called Carnival to try and find out where they were performing and Carnival told me the Grand Hotel. When I told the Carnival Rep that there was no hotel called the Grand Hotel, they couldn't even help me.

I called the Hotel today .... $35 over the phone .... $48 thru Carnival!!! And yes, he'll be there the first week of April which is when we will be there.

I saw the show once a couple of years ago and remember enjoying it so much that I wanted to bring my girls, ages 13 & 16 plus my parents and my in-laws to see it.....

Thanks again so much for the info.... I really appreciate it...

Glad to be of help!

The beauty of this board in that in trying to assist others, you find information that can be of use to yourself. I always wanted to see Juan Carlos and may be able to do just that in our upcoming October cruise. Savings from buying the ticket direct from the hotel will pay for the cab ride. Thanks for the info.

Happy sailing!!

A couple of things that I remember... the music, the costumes, the singing and the fact that we've been to San Juan so many times before and this time we're only there from 5 - 12pm so it gives us enough time to go shopping and see the show!!!!

I'll certainly let you know if it's as good as I remember it being upon my return but thats not for another 11 weeks...
