Bioluminescence Tour with Princess Cruise Line Question

We're in San Juan until 11 pm but I'm a bit nervous about booking with an outside tour company for this one just because I'm afraid we won't get back in time (tour on Princess says 5 hours and I understand it's a bit of a drive to get there).

I've not booked an excursion through the cruise line before and always hear that you get more bang for your buck so to speak and less people in the tours, etc.

So my question is two fold I guess. First has anyone done this tour with Princess and can tell me their experience? And second, if you've done an independent tour that was good and you KNOW that it gets back in plenty of time for sail away for our times, can you give me some suggestion as to where I should be looking?

Although I don't have an answer to your specific questions, I thought I would offer this information: A few people in my group on the Carnival Liberty last year took the ship's tour of Kayaking in Bio Bay when in port in San Juan during the evening. YES, Bio Bay is quite a distance from the ship. I normally always use independant tour operators, but for this one due to the distance involved and the fact that it is evening, I would recommend using the ship's tour.

That's what we were thinking too. We have booked outside tours for everything else for our two cruises, but for some reason my instinct says cruise ship excursion this time. Think I'll follow that instinct!

Did the people that went on the tour have feedback after their excursion?
