We're cruising there in April. My hubby found online that there is a Senor Frogs but not sure if he found a Carlos & Charlies. I hear there are a lot of bars and clubs within walking distance of the port. I'll try to remember to post after we get back.
Going For Platinum! Carnival Spirit 3/2006, Carnival Valor 4/2005, Carnival Triumph 6/2003, Fantasy 8/2001, Tropicale 5/2000
Most ships dock right in old san Juan and you can walk around and find bars and clubs all over.
We did that but we took a short walking tour with an excellent tour guide name Tito at email@example.com.
It was a great expereince, check him out.
San Juan has a neat typical new restaurant near the cruise ship area check it out at www.restauranteraices.com
then there is the Don Q rum store by pier #2 for a complimentary rum drink, now you dont have to go to the Bacardi distilleery
and finally the best tour guide on the island firstname.lastname@example.org
very informative, certified, does a neat walking tour and speaks good English
Definitely no Carlos & Charlies in Puerto Rico. There are quite a few bars/nightclubs within walking distance right in Old San Juan and, yes, the Parrot Club is one of the more popular stops for tourists!
We just came back from a cruise on Triumph that stopped in San Juan. We also heard that the Parrot Club was very good, but decided to meet others from our cruise at Senor Frogs...we loved it!!! It was one big party, which was appropriate since it was my husband's birthday that day! If you're eating there (don't have to pay the cover if you're eating), we had chicken wings and they were good. We had a yard of their local beer. If you're "up" for it - try a shooter
