Default Coral World - St. Thomas

Just wondering if Coral World in St. Thomas is worth the visit. It sounds great. Has anyone been and can give me any advice? We will be there in October of this year. There are so many things to do in St. Thomas. We have to do the Sky tram, I can't miss that. I think we are there until 8PM. Any suggestions??

My DH and I went there. We took a cab rather then booked a tour since we wanted to do more then just that while there. I thought it was great. Since the fee to get in includes coming and going as much as you want, you can go to the beach next to the park and use the lockers inside the park. They have showers and places to eat as well. The water there is so clear and the bright fish are all around.. Lovely sand.

The park has some great displays and hands on stuff. You can also snuba.

Thanks. It really sounds like something that we would enjoy. I think I will put it on our "must do" list. Did you take the skytram?

yes we did after we came back from Coral World. its right there next to the port and shopping. Beautiful view and you have to try their speciality drink... The Bushwacker. Yummmmmm.. Made with Baileys.

We took a cab first thing from getting off the ship.. 9am. I think Coral world opens up at 9:30. We got there before all of the ship tours came through so no crowds to deal with. The beach was the same way.. We left there around noon. Went up to the point and had lunch then wandered around the shopping area before heading back to the ship. Wonderful day.

My husband and I went to Coral World in July of 1992 and from what I remember it was very nice. We booked the excursion through the ship, but wished that we would have done it on our own, via taxi, etc.

I found some discount coupons on Coral World website for 3.00 off per person (I think). So, it's better to go on your own rather than take the ship tour? I guess you can take your time and not feel rushed. How much are the taxi's, do you remember? I also found discount coupons for the skytram and coupons for discounts on the bushwhacker. I've never had one, guess I will have to try it . I saw the pix in the gallery, it looks great. Thanks, again. I think I have found something for us to do in St. Thomas. Now, what about St. Maarten, any suggestions? We really don't get into the beach, we have beach's here at home, not as beautiful, but..... What about the butterfly farm and marigot, or just a island tour?

Hmmmm I'm trying to remember how much the cab was.. I want to say $20 for both of us. Don't forget you can always bargain for the best price. I liked doing it by cab otherwise you don't get to see as much.

Destiny didn't stop there when I was on the cruise but I'm sure others on the board will be more then happy to answer.
