Default Taxi from Bacardi Rum Factory to SJU?

Hi - my wife and I are interested in going to the Bacardi Rum Factory before we fly home. Our flight is at 2pm, leaving from SJU.

We originally wanted to do the excursion through RCCL but in order to do that, the flight has to be leaving 2:30 or later. We thought about just doing the excursion, and taking our chances on getting to the flight on time - but we really don't want to end up being screwed.

We plan on checking our bags through AA right off the ship - so luggage won't be an issue.

From internet lurking, I already know how to get to the factory from the pier (the ferry to a cab). Would anyone know the best bet on getting to the airport from the Rum Factory? Like how long would it take, and how much it would cost? This would be on a Monday morning in November (10-11am-ish) so I'm not sure if traffic is a factor.

Thanks so much in advance.

Don't take a cab all the way around. Take the water taxi (.75 per person) across the bay. Its at the same docks as the cruise ships. 15 minute ride across the bay. When you get there you catch a $3 cab to the Bacardi factory. The tour is free. I enjoyed it. And take the water taxi back across the bay when your done.

Dina - thanks for responding.

I already know about getting to Bacardi, via the water taxi. After the tour is done, I will need to get to the airport. Is it easier/cheaper to take the water taxi back to the cruise docks - then grab a cab from there? Or should we grab a cab to the airport from Bacardi.

Thanks again for your help.

I have taken the water taxi to the Factory. My experience is that it took us an hour to get from one place to the next. As it happens we had just missed a boat, and by the time we waitedfor the next, the time of the trip, the taxi to the factory, etc etc, an hour had gone by. Just something to keep in mind. And I don't know exactly how far it is to the airport, but it is further than the cruise ship, which is about half an hour ride.

All that said, I would think you can make it if you don't linger a long time at Bacardi.

You could also talk to the shore excursion staff - they may be willing to book you anyway. not sure

Just a note about the wheelchair..San Juan has cobblestones that are hard to walk on, and I think to wheel a chair would be quite hard to do:(
