Barbados: Blue Monkey Beach and The Boatyard in 1 Day???

Hi Cruisemates,
I'll be in Barbados for 1 day on December 19th on a stop on my cruise and am wondering if I could get some advice about a little plan I have cooked up for that day. I will only be in port from 8 AM - 5 PM. I'm wondering if you think it would be possible to visit Blue Monkey Beach (in Paynes Bay) in the morning and then head over to The Boatyard (in Carlisle Bay) in the afternoon and still be back to the ship by 5 PM?

I've heard that I can walk to a bus stop near the Cruise Port and take a 10 minute bus ride to Blue Monkey Beach. I'd love to go there and snokel with the turtles, but I would not like to spend the whole day there as I hear that the beach is actually very rocky and you will constantly be bombarded by vendors all day. After snorkeling, I'd like to either take a cab or a bus over to The Boatyard since I hear that it's absolutely beautiful and more peaceful.

Can anyone with experience or knowledge of the area let me know if you think this will be doable??? I could be off the ship right when it docks and be on the go all day if you think it will work. Also, does anyone know if there are lockers available at Blue Monkey Beach? I'm traveling along and wouldn't want to leave my things alone on the beach while I'm way out in the water.

You can definitely do both in one day. When you get off the ship, catch a cab. They are lined up right there.

We took a cab out to Harrison's cave then got a ride to Malibu Beach.. I loved it.

I've read that there are lockers you can rent at the boatyard so you can lock up your stuff. We had lockers at Malibu beach as well. I'm not sure about the other beach. I haven't read much about it.

Have a fantastic time there. Barbados was one of my favorite stops.

It does sound possible and the Boatyard Beach isn't that far from the pier, we actually walked back, just keep track of time and the bus schedule as well. There are lots of water activities at the Boatyard, so you can easily spend some time there, also a restaurant/bar too.
