Default Beaches in Nassau

Can anyone recommend any beaches in Nassau, Bahamas. Possibly one with water sports, etc.

Thanks!

Take a taxi to Cabbage Beach ($4 each). It had beautiful water, huge waves, sandy bottom, water sports (jet ski, parasail). We enjoyed this beach last week.

Was it very busy? I hear in the winter the beach is packed.

This is a great all inclusive day pass. They aren't on a big stretch beach though. They do have a nice pool, activities, and all the food and drinks you could want are included.

A few years back, we took a taxi to a public beach right next door to the Atlantis Hotel. I don't remember what it was called - can anyone help me out with that? It was a beautiful, clean beach...would defiately go there again.

I think we also went to the same beach, it is an easy walk from the Atlantis Resort. The beach is right next to the RIU Hotel. I don't know what the name of the beach was, there were no signs anywhere. We were referred there by an employee of Atlantis but you can just take a taxi from the pier directly to the RIU Hotel or perhaps the taxi driver will know the name of the public beach that it next to the hotel. You couldn't see the beach from the road, we had to walk up a hill and back down to access the beach. It was beautiful. There were lounge chair rentals, refreshments for sale, water sports (banana boat rides, jet ski rentals, etc.). The only thing it didn't have were restrooms.

I think that was Cabbage Beach right next to the Rui Hotel and across from Atlantis. I don't recall seeing any restaurants, but there were hotels along the beach. There were also watersports (ie, jet skis and banana boats). There was no charge for the use of the beach but there was chair rental. The beach was empty in the early morning, but as the day went on many more people showed up. It was not crowded, as the beach was very big.
