Default Hotels in San Juan - Pre-Cruise - One Night Only

I will be flying into San Juan on Saturday, one day before my Destiny cruise. I would love to stay at one of the resorts in SJ and enjoy a 24 hour land vacation. In this I would like a nice pool and pretty beach in a nice, reasonably priced hotel/resort. I am also interested in enjoying the SJ nightlife on Saturday night. I will be exploring the Fort and Old San Juan after I check onto the ship at around 1:00 on Sunday so I being in walking distance of Old San Juan is not necessary for my hotel.

Any suggestions?

I am looking at Intercontinental, El San Juan, or Golden Sands Villa.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Those hotels are nice, but can be quite pricey depending on time of year. You might want to try something like Priceline. We got a beautiful condo room at the El Caribe in early winter for $75 a night.

I also departing from San Juan for my Destiny cruise. I booked a one night at Oceana Hostal Playero.....pretty reasonable and 2 mins from the Ocean Park Beach.
Staff is also very accommodating since I will be allowed to leave my bags at their desk until check-in time since I'll be arriving in Puerto Tico 4 hours before check-in time.....I'll be doing some shopping diring that time.

We are leaving out of SJ in two weeks and we will be staying at the holiday inn in Isle Verdi which is about twenty minutes from the port.It is going to cost us $109 plus taxes. It has a nice pool and is a two block walk to the beach,it is about a half mile from the hotels that you mentioned.

We stayed in both EL San Juan Hotel and Casino and the Intercontineantial. Although both hotels are great and right on the beach, my preference would be Intercontinenatial because it's more reasonably priced, and you don't have to pay an additonal resort fee like EL San Juan, plus you can actually eat at their resturants without going broke, unlike at the EL San Juan. Both of these resorts are right next door to one another so they share the same beach. Good luck and happy cruising.

Same as stated above
if you are looking for a nice 24 stay, the Intercontinental is your best bet
It is a very comfy resort, with a good pool and very pretty beach (right next to the El San Juan Hotel, so they share a beach)
what puts it on top of SJ hotel for your occasion, the price.. it's much more cheap.
about the SJ nightlife, you can go to Old San Juan and visit a couple of bars
as you can also go to a club right in El San Juan Hotel which is REALLY popular in PR

hope you have fun!
