Have to agree with Trip. I have been to both in the past few months. Freeport is basically a commercial port and not much at all around the dock area to do. You will need to get a cab to go out and about. Nassau has so much more in the way of shopping, tours, The Atlantis Hotel complex, etc.
There is a place that's a cab ride away from the docks at Freeport where many of the new hotels are that has lots of upscale shops, bars and eateries. Very pleasant. Also a pleasure craft dock there with many multi million dollar Yachts, both sail and motor-craft.
