Default Atlantis and Paradise Island

Hello everyone,

My parents and my best friend and I are booked on the Majesty of the Seas for May 26th. We want to be able to use the facilities at the Atlantis. We've heard about some cruise ship passengers booking a room in the Comfort Inn so that they can use the Atlantis' pools, slides and aquariums. Does anyone have anymore details on this?

Thanks!

At one time, you were able to do that, up to 4 people. I read somewhere that they no longer offer that, but its worth checking into.

I checked their website and it said, no day rooms. I know you used to be able to, and some people have posted they have done this..I think a call to the facility may get you more info.

You can certainly book an excursion ticket to Atlantis - some of the cashless fast-food stations even have lines expressly for cruise passengers (I don't know if you can use your cruise room card or if you have to use a credit card for purchase). There were quite a few Royal Caribbean towels out and about last week when I was there for a conference.

There are lockers you can rent for the day, between $5-$10. If you go, I would bring your own water and some picnic-type food if possible and just use the lockers and changing rooms at Atlantis. The food prices poolside are ridiculous and I couldn't find an open restaurant at midday on a Saturday, other than sandwiches and salads on the pool decks.

Default Carnival -Atlantis excursion

Has anyone bopoked this excursion through Carnival. Is it worth it at $152.00? I see you can book a room for $300 for 2 people. Im thinking that may be better.

For me, even the aquariums and waterslides don't make Atlantis worth $150 for the day. There is Cabbage Beach, I think it's called, next door continuous with Atlantis in front of the RIU hotel, so it's the same beach without the cost. If you live within driving distance of a good waterpark and you aren't an absolute mavin about aquariums, I would go somewhere else. If you just want to see the Aquarium and then go to the public beach, there are much cheaper tours for that.

Thanks so much for all of your input! We ended up booking a room at the Comfort Inn and Suites. It ended up being $50 a person instead of the usual $159.00 a person to use everything!

The comfort inn thing worked perfectly! I highly recommend it.

How does it work at the Comfort Inn? Do they actually give you passes to Atlantis for the day with your room? We are going there on Carnival in a few weeks. The kids really want to go in the water park but not for the prices listed on the excursion. Any info about Comfort Inn would be appreciated.

Has anyone done the "DIG" at Atlantis? What is that???

Noels81 - "The Dig" is the name of the aquarium exhibit at Atlantis Resort, it is an amazing aquarium, you do not have to be a guest of the hotel to go to the aquarium, there are kiosks where you can buy your admission tickets, we bought ours in the casino

Tauruschick,

I don't know if you got my PM, but regarding Comfort Suite, did you get a taxi from the cruise port to Comfort Suite to pick up the passes? Is it okay if I ask how much the taxi ride cost... I'm a family of 6.

And I also booked with Comfort Suites for 1 night this coming August, to get the passes. Did you have to pay the housekeeping/energy surcharges even if you didn't stay overnight, or even touched the rooms?

Thanks for any help!

Sorry that I didn't get your PM sooner. I haven't checked CM in awhile.
We did have to pay all the taxes and fees. We did use the showers in the room before heading back to the ship, so you may want to bring a change of clothes. It's much more comfortable that way.

Happy Cruising!

Since checkin time is not till 3pm and you have to be back on the ship shortly after, was it hard to get early checkin?

When my family of 6 went to Nassau this past August, neither one of our 2 rooms were ready before 3pm. Things might be different now, since Aug is a very busy time. It's not a big problem really, if you only booked Comfort Suites for passes to Atlantis. Even without a room being ready, you can still get passes into Atlantis right when you arrive. And when its close to time to reboard the ship, clean up back at Comfort Suites since room should be ready by then; very convenient.

I did end up booking it and calling them. They assured me they have a place for us to stow a backpack if needed and to change and get our bracelets. Last time we did it our room was ready. We did clean up in the room (was nice after being in the tiny ship bathroom) before going back and watched ESPN for a while too!

Anyone interested in splitting the cost of a room at the Comfort Inn for Aquadventure passes. Rates are $199 and since it's 4 to a room, it would be only $50/each versus $150 each at Atlantis. Let me know if 2 people out there want to get in on this?

if you want, you can see how long the bands are good for and what we would need to get one to you?

Thanks to the tips on the board, I booked a room for January. When I called the hotel, they told me there was a 2 night min stay. But, when I booked on-line, it allowed me to reserve 1 night. Did everyone else just book 1 night? I don't want to get there and have them say "Sorry you can only use Atlantis if you booked 2 nights". I don't want to be the one who ruins our Nassau stop for the family Thanks for your help. If this works, it saved us a lot of money!!!

we were there Friday, the 19th

'pre checked in' at 1030am, checked out at the EXACT same time since we had to be back on board by 330pm.....did not want to wait in lines at hotel and checkin was 3pm so there was NO way we would ever access the room

thing is that stinks, is you pay a housekeeping and energy fee and never even acquire a key!
