If you want to trade information on Independent Shore Excursions, Post here to start your thread.

I can share information with other Cruise Mates on independent Venders/Tour Companies/Rental Agencies that are far less costly then the ship tours offered by the Cruise Lines.

Information on Taxi's, Bus systems, ATV & Jet Ski rentals, Hourse Back riding, all shore excursions of every type, boat rentals, Diving, snorkeling, Landmarks of Interest, Tours, Shopping, Bars, Restaurants, etc.

I started researching information on the following Islands and found deals that will save up to 40% off Cruise Lines Listed pricing on some of the land excursions/tours offered.

Not only that, I found activities of special interest that the Cruise Lines don't offer.

1) Cayman Islands (George Town).
2) Jamaica (Ocho Rios).
3) Mexico (Ocho Rios).
4) Netherland Antilles (St. Maarten).
5) U.S. Virgin Islands St. Thomas & St. John).
6) St. Kitts
7) San Juan (Puerto Rico).

There are plenty of things to do in San Juan (Puerto Rico) that you can do on your own without a tour guide or excursion of any kind.

Many are right within Old San Juan -- near where the cruise ships dock. Others are "out on the island" and you will need to rent a car to get to them.

Renting a car in Old San Juan is easy, as it the driving .... and the cost of the car for a day will most likely be less than the cost of an excursion for one person! How can you go wrong?

Visit our travel guide to read about things we have personally done in Puerto Rico (where we live) and benefit from our insider information, reviews, hints and tips!

Enjoy your visit to Puerto Rico!

Dune Buggy Tours is a great tour to book when going to Cozumel. Write to dunebuggytours@live.com to reserve.

A great source for tours is Caribbean Shore Tours they have tours all over the Caribbean.

We have also used Belize Cruise Excursions and Cayman Islands Discounts to name a few more.

Thanks for the links to excursion companies in St Thomas. Can you recommend anything in Tortola or Samana?

How far in advance do you have to book them? We are leaving on 12/13.

Default Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman....What's good? Need the 411.

That sounds like you have lots of good info.
I was looking into the Dunns River/ATV adventures out of Ocho Rios and I've heard people say not to go off like that because of the "boldness" of natives in the area and that they can come on pretty strong. I'm just looking to be safe with DH and DS, you know? Maybe there's something better to do there that entails a little adventure???

Also for the one day at Grand Cayman....anything besides the stingrays? I hear that's the thing to do but I know that DH and DS (16 yrs) want to do something more exciting. They parasailed in the Bahamas a few years ago and enjoyed that. I was looking at the stingray/jet ski combos.

Thanks for your comments

Default Samana -- need advice

we are going with a group of 10 on NCL in October. First stop is Samana, DR, what would you suggest? Is there a less expensive alternative to getting to Cayo Levantado than the $50pp the ship is offering (that doesn't include anything once you get there).
