Grand Turk & Hurricane Ike

We're scheduled to stop in Grand Turk in early October; at what point do the cruiselines let you know if they will be making a change due to hurricane damage?

We'll be on the Crown Princess.

[Not that it really matters....I'd much rather be on a cruise ship than be at work, even if we don't make a stop!]

After seeing video footage last night of the devestation on Grand Turk, I would say you will get a day at sea, or visit another island...Getting the infrastructure up and running, will take a while.

What I heard was, every home had damage, and most had no roofs. So sad for all the people in the Carib, getting storms left and right:(

Supposedly Grand Turk will be closed to tourists and cruise ships until the second week in October.

I read it will open on Oct. 8th to cruise ships. You won't know - for sure - until you either recieve your tickets or board the ship.

I'm leaving Monday on Carnival destiny, they are still scheduked to go to grand turk per the cruise lines
