I need beach recommendations for both these ports...here is what we want/don't want...
Calm waters suitable for children
Little to no vendors
Facilities to use when needed and at least one spot to grab a bite to eat
Snorkeling not important
Accessible by cab and cab availability when ready to return to ship
Where do you most recommend based on our wishes? I appreciate any and all help!!!
Oops, in my original post I forgot to mention that we've been to Orient before and while it is beautiful, it wasn't our cup of tea. We prefer a calmer atmosphere. Orient was too busy with vendors, bars, etc.
To give an indication of what we're looking for, our style of beach is more Trunk Bay on St. John's or Maegan's Beach on St. Thomas...that kind of less-busy atmosphere.
Any new recommendations? Wherever we go, we still want to be sure a cab will be available to get us back to the pier. Tips for doing that?
Yes, Dengue Fever is transmitted by mosquitos. Dengue is a haemorrhagic fever for which there is no vaccine and no cure and it has four different strains and getting it once does not make you immune to catching the other strains.
For St. Maarten, if you wanted to get a little shopping in, I like to go to the beach in town. You can go down to the end & it's quiet there. It's like the best of both worlds. The water there is great & there are facilities all over & great restaurants. I love Taloulah Mangos for pizza.
