Nassau and Freeport excursions

Any suggestions for these two ports? We have read alot about Atlantis and other suggestions. Will be there the first of April.

I would recommend seeing Atlantis and taking the tour there, an amazing aquarium that you really don't see anywhere else. Be sure to spend some time walking around town, some nice shops there too. Haven't been to Freeport, so can't help you there.

We just got back from there on the Splendor. My family and I went on the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter. It was well worth the money. The cost through Carnival was $112, my granddaughter (3) got to go in the water with us for free. She got to do everything we did; pictures, feeding, kissing, petting, and hugging the dolphin. We spent about 30 mins. with the dolphin. But it does take the whole day, you might not have enough time to see other things.

Booes Mom - Was the dolphin encounter in Nassau or Freeport? And did you granddaughter have to pay for the bus ride or was it completely free? Thanks!

My graddaughter was completely free. My husband, son and dad paid $25 to ride on the boat to the island and watch and take pictures. Their pictures were very reasonable, they had various packages. That was on Nassau. You are on the boat for 30 mins. both ways.

Yes it was through Carnival. I was glad we did. We didn't get back to the ship till 5:20 pm. We really hustled to get back but they called ahead to let Splendor know, but there were alot that were running. Carnival was respondsible for our return, that is the safety of going through Carnival

hi there sorry for the late reply hopefully you havent gone yet.

Freeport was nice enough, you have to get a shuttle to town, we did an excursion, the sail and snorkel wasnt worth the extra $$, if you hadnt snorkeled it was okay.

we had bad weather so it limited us, we walked the market and then just grabbed the bus back.

in Naussau it was wind so cool, but the stores closes by 5pm , we shopped in the morning then went back to the boat for lunch, we then took a taxi for $3 each to atlantis and wondered around, i am sure there they told us we could go in for $35 each, if I had known that we would have, every where i had looked was $50 plus, it didnt include food, or water park, just walking the grounds and beach.

instead we went out the far end(away from casino) and out the back door past the one hotel...beside it is a walk way to the beach for free, we hung out a bit, it was wind/waves were high and the air was cold so really couldnt enjoy it. we took the water taxi back and went back on board it was our formal nite.
